In 2019, Conservative Patriots from Mecklenburg and Union Counties came together with a desire to create the pre-eminent Republican Men's organization in North Carolina. With that goal in mind, The Hornet's Nest Republcan Men's Club was formed. The club was organized under the North Carolina Federation of Republican Men, an affiliate organization of the NCGOP. When the HNRMC received it's charter in December 2019, it increased the affiliate membership number of the NC Federation of Republican Men by 25%.

When coming up with a name for the club, the leadership and membership looked to the history of our region. During the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution, Lord Cornwallis spent a mere 16 days in Charlotte and due to daily harassment by patriot soldiers, left the town declaring it to be "A Hornet's Nest of Rebellion".

The leadership of the HNRMC planned to and continues to "stir things up", politically, by actively promoting conservative Republican candidates, philosophy and causes. Dan Barry, our club's first President echoed the mission and purpose of the HNRMC when he stated "Our Mission is simple. We aim to recruit, develop, support and elect conservative Republicans to Public Office." The HNRMC has lived up to that pledge, working with the NCGOP, other affiliate organizations within the State as well as with the local party leaders to push our candidates on the Victory!

Yet, the HNRMC has evolved into so much more. In addition to candidate support, the club has hosted many events that have brought key lawmakers, decision makers and political influencers in front of the membership and their guests, giving those attending insights into policy that you just can't get in a 10 second TV sound bite.

The HNRMC continues to host large events between 3-4 times per year. HNRMC events are open to all Republicans in the region. We also offer the membership opportunities to gather in social settings as well. The goal of the HNRMC is to continue to expand the membership of the club into our adjoining counties and continue with our original and ongoing missions. We encourage conservative Republicans from Cabarrus, Iredell, Gaston and Stanly counties in NC to join their Union and Mecklenburg compatriots in our efforts. We also encourage our fellow Republicans in Lancaster, York and Chester counties in South Carolina to join us. Our organization is truly regional and here to serve the Piedmont region of both of our states by growing the conservative Republican movement and doing everything we can locally, statewide and nationally to save our Republic.
