After a long hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, the members of the Hornet's Nest Republican Men's Club contributed to our collective return to "normalcy" by getting back to a regular schedule of events. The members were honored to welcome as their keynote speaker, the new President of the Heritage foundation, Mr. Kevin Roberts.
The Heritage Foundation, for nearly 50 years, has been a leading conservative think tank and driver of conservative policies at the federal and state level. You can get information about The Heritage Foundation by CLICKING HERE.
In addition to Kevin Roberts, those in attendence were joined by Amy Cooke, CEO of North Carolina's own John Locke Foundation, as well as state and local candidates for the upcoming 2022 mid term elections. Also, the event was
joined by our own Congressman Dan Bishop (NC-9), Ralph Norman (SC-5) and special guest Ohio Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-8).
The Congressmen gave an update on the challenges facing them in a Democrat majority Congress and the importance of winning back the House in 2022.
The event was held at the Firethorne Country Club in Marvin, the very location where the inaugural meeting of the Hornet's Nest Republican Men's Club
took place in 2019. Kudos to the chefs, waitstaff and bartenders at Firethorne for the job they did taking care of the hundreds of guests who attended this event. Many local candidates running in the upcoming primaries in the reigion joined us as well.
The evening was capped off with our Keynote Speaker Kevin Roberts. He discussed the role of the Heritage Foundation in suggesting ways to shape conservative policies and ensure that those ideas are turned into action through legislation at the national and state level.
The Heritage Foundation's mission is to formulate and promote public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.
