Members

Dear Founding Member:

We would like to provide a brief update on your Club’s activities. HNRMC club was founded in July of 2019 and we quickly grew to about 130 members making us North Carolina’s largest federated men’s Republican club.

Our two inaugural events in 2019 had "sold out" capacity attendance and featured a majority of our local, state, federal, and judicial candidates and sitting public officials in addition to party leaders and policy enthusiasts.

And then came COVID……...

While we couldn't have those large scale events in person, it did not stop us from pursuing our mission and vision. Your club actively vetted all the primary candidates and provided endorsements where appropriate in accordance with our By-Laws. Members actively provided support by door knocking, voter registration events, fundraising, and providing support at the polls on election day.

Our virtual summer series on Thursday nights featured several great programs including Representative Bishop, Senator Tillis, Governor McCrory and Amy O. Cooke (The Right AOC) of the John Locke Foundation as well as many of our Council of State candidates.

Our website, https://hornets-nest-rmc.com/, is the envy of state clubs and includes bios and active links for Republicans running for judicial, local, statewide, and national offices. It also includes information on the Hornet’s Nest Board and leadership. Speaking of leadership there have been a few changes. With founding Director David Willis’s election to the General Assembly, he is no longer serving on the board but remains an active member. We have added former Representative Craig Horn to the board and are very excited about the contributions he will make.

Covid restrictions prevented our "in-person" quarterly gatherings in 2020 and that continues in 2021. With accelerated vaccinations, we hope to resume our quarterly dinners by the third quarter..

We will again take an active role in both our primary and general election races for local candidates this year. A large number of municipal, county, and school board races are on the November 2021 ballot. Many of those races may be deferred until 2022 due to unavailable census dated required for redistricting. That gives us some extra time to develop and support candidates! We need to win those races!

Without the ability to conduct our quarterly meetings in person, our only revenue source is our annual dues. Since most members had joined by September of last year, we had set October 1 as the due date for our annual 2020 membership dues. We have now extended that to March 2021.

Like our sister clubs in the region, we welcome all registered Republicans to join us in membership. We have two classifications of dues paying members. Registered Republican men, with full voting privileges, membership dues will again be $50. For our women colleagues who join us as associate members, those does remain at $30.00. As we have a number of Independent or Unaffiliated voters in our ranks, we have added and additional category just for you - Honored Guest. We included a link to make it easy to pay online. Please pay dues online here Dues

Yep, 2020 was an interesting year. Not the one any of us planned for sure. But we managed through it and will do it again in 2021.

No matter where you (we) are on the spectrum, we are all simply Republicans. We won't agree on every issue. And that's OK!!! What we can agree on, however, is that our belief in capitalism, fiscal responsibility, smaller government, and an adherence to the basic tenets of our constitution bind us together against socialism, communism, and an intrusive government slowly hell bent on removing our time-tested constitutional rights. So please stay with us and help us fight the good fight!

A few closing “asks” from your leadership team:

Your Hornet’s Nest Executive Board.
